Project Background
Skapasaga is a personalized children’s book platform designed to make every child the star of their own story. The platform uses AI for story, text, and illustration generation to create books based on information provided by the user.
The goal was to create a simple and enjoyable experience where users can select a story theme, add personal details and anecdotes, create characters, upload images, customize the writing style and language, preview the finished story, and order a physical book, all through one guided journey.
Empiric Infotech designed the platform in Figma, and two dedicated developers built it with React on the front end and Python on the back end.

Project Challenges
Making Deep Personalization Feel Simple: Creating a unique story requires multiple inputs, including plot details, anecdotes, characters, photos, language, tone, themes, and other preferences. The challenge was collecting enough information to create a meaningful story without making the process feel overwhelming.
Creating a Clear Multi-Step Journey: The customization process needed to take users from choosing an initial story concept through four stages of personalization and ultimately to story generation, while clearly communicating progress and allowing users to move backward when necessary.
Connecting Personalization with E-commerce: The experience does not end when the story is generated. Story preview, delivery details, payment selection, checkout, order management, and tracking all needed to feel like parts of one connected customer journey.
Handling Personal Content & Privacy: Users can provide personal anecdotes, character information, and images for their books. The platform therefore needed to clearly communicate privacy and responsible handling of personal data.
Strategy and Solutions
Guided Story Customization: The personalization journey was divided into four clear stages rather than presenting users with one large form. Users move from plot information to personal details, characters and illustrations, and finally story style and language.
Flexible Personalization: Optional fields and examples allow users to decide how detailed they want their story to be. They can add anecdotes, multiple characters and images, as well as specify age, moral, tone, theme, and language to make the final story more personal.
Preview Before Purchase: Once the story is generated, users can review the personalized content before committing to an order, creating a natural checkpoint between customization and purchase.
Complete Account Experience: A dedicated profile area brings together personal information, stories in progress, orders, saved cards, addresses, settings, and account management. This also allows customers to return to unfinished stories and manage purchases from one place.
Streamlined Purchase Flow: The checkout experience connects the generated book with quantity selection, shipping details, multiple payment options, saved payment information, and a clear price summary.
